When to use it

Use it for intros, manifestos, and interviews where you want people to slow down. Do not use it on body copy, terms, or anything people scan — it decides their reading speed for them.

Parameters

threshold per unit = index / total · past units opacity .22 → 1 and blur 1.6px → 0 · 180ms ease-out · tied to scroll 1:1

  2. when threshold per unit = index / total

One sentence for your AI

Light this paragraph up word by word as the page scrolls: split it into units (characters for Chinese and Japanese, words for English) and give each unit a threshold equal to its position in the paragraph. As the scroll progress crosses a threshold, take that unit from opacity .22 and blur(1.6px) to 1 and 0 over 180ms ease-out. Bind progress straight to the scroll position so scrolling back reverses it — no spring.
